Re: VOTE HERE

I think you ought to clarify your poll a little. If I had a 14' jon boat I used on the lake and I said I didn't carry an auxilliary that would be a little different than if I had a 25' I used in the Gulf of Mexico. I have a 17' runabout and I vote:

NO

Re: VOTE HERE

If you have a new or well maintained motor, I don't see the need. In Melbourne (OZ) you can use Mobile phone, Marine Radio, and if no one comes.. revert to flares and when near death.. EPIRB (Compulsory offshore)

Even on a 16 ft aluminum Always. Especially on bigger water.

Re: VOTE HERE

AYE and yes I have used it on 3 occasions. One was blown engine, piston rod through the block. The other 2 was electrical. Kinda of hard to work on that while on the water. I use it 99% of the time for trolling.

Re: VOTE HERE

I don't, but I'd like one for my 16' Glastron. I'm thinking about getting one of those outboard mounted trolling motors just for emergencies. Ski boats are hard to paddle... :p
