I am considering the purchase of a 2008 22' voyager tritoon with twin honda 90's. I have not seen any information about this boat set up. The voyager internet site does not show this configuration. Can anyone share any thoughts about this boat and motor combination?

Welcome to iboats.

The first thing that popped into my mind is 2 engines = twice the maintanence, weight and gas, that thing has to set pretty low in the water.

While it has 180 hp it won't go as fast as a boat with a single 180 on it because of the extra weight, those type of boats are around but are kinda rare as in not alot of them and not rare as in '68 split window Vette.

If you like to swim or ski it seems the back of the boat would be taken up with engines and not much room for anything else and I think the same boat with a single 150 would be almost as fast, use less fuel and be way more practical but if none of that matters to you go for it.

What level boater are you also, I would certtainly not recomend this to someone who is new or novice.

+1 for 5150 especially about the advantage of single 150 compared to two 90's.

+2 on the above threads.

Most 22' Tritoons are best when powered by a single 150 hp outboard.

Twin engines should be reserved for open water (oceans or big water) in order to have a backup engine--somewhere a pontoon boat shouldn't be.

I'd go back to the drawing board.

Thank you for taking the time to make these comments. I had not considered some of these aspects. Usually when a set up is unusual there is a reason why. I need a stable boat for the Lake of the Ozarks. I am in a high traffic area with large boats and rough water. Some boats are over 50' and produce a wake of 4-5'. I have decreased using the lake due to the rough waters. That is why I am looking for stable pontoon that will fit into a 10 X 24 well.
