Just picked up an 88 Sun Runner 235 weekender with above power. It's been sitting in a dry barn for a number of years. Looking to pull the drive for bellows work and u joint inspection. I'm new to these VP's I've been a Merc guy forever. Any links to where I can find the info? Just picked it up so I don't have a manual yet and looking to do it this weekend.

Also how is the reputation of these drives? I have heard good things about them. This boat has 249 hours and was rarely used. Any experienced info would be appreciated, and thanks in advance!

removing similar to a 290

lower drive onto a piece of wood sitting on ground
remove shift cover
disconnect shift cable
remove shift cable keeper
remove helmet pin, push helmet up
loosen clamps on bellows, push bellows off
disconnect water inlet hose
pull pins on tilt cylinders
pull pivot pins
grab top of drive and pull towards you

Wow..according to Don S's sticky, you can really just pull the upper gear case off to replace bellows? Well that is hitting an easy button for sure!!

Yes, don't remove the whole drive if you are replacing just the bellows.
