Good afternoon all,

I've searched around with no luck. Well, read several topics yet wanted to verify etc..

I own: 2003 Volvo Penta 5.7Gxi / DP.

I pulled my drive last fall and stored it in the garage. That was a first for me, as will the install be here shortly. :) Even though she pulled out quite smoothly I would like to check the engine alignment etc. I spoke to my VP shop and they didn't have one to "loan" and wanted $150+ to order one for me. Sir Don, I did read one post were you eluded that a Merc tool would work/is basically the same as the VP. True/False?

Basically, I would like to acquire a VP/ an alignment tool yet would love to spend less than the $150 quote above. Can some one point me in the right direction/Internet store-front etc.?

Many thanks all,

Cheers

Absolutely TRUE. Exactly the same. Merc, aftermarket for merc, all have the same dimensions.
You can get them on ebay for 40 to 60 bucks depending on the time of day.
