Well pretty much like the title says. I cant seem to get the thing to turn at all. Ive tapped on it with the impact driver as much as I feel comfortable with. Ive still got somewhat of a slot left on the head but it is deteriorating quickly. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

I had problems with the oil drain screw on mine (the one behind prop). I had to go buy the biggest darn flathead screwdriver I could find (1/2 inch) and muscle it. Good luck.

put the impact driver on it, twist the driver the way you want the screw to turn and whack it, don't tap, that just screws up the head.

Been there done that. Im afraid that too much wacking could possibly crack the drive. Ive actually broken two of my bits off on it and twisted a third one till it was unusable. Would you be worried about beating on it so hard that you cracked the drive ?

Nahhh. The drive will take a beating. I use a 64 ouce ball peen and my KD Tools hand impact driver to knock them loose. And even with that sometimes I have to beat it. I break bits all the time to, i always keep a few spares in the old box. If you feel you really need to use a little propane and heat the area around the plug

Ok sounds great. Im pulling the drive off anyway so Ill be able to soak the water side with some penetrating oil too. I just was picturing a large crack developing where I was hitting it. Thanks for the info.

If you are talking about the WATER drain plug and not the lube drain plug- you can just leave it alone. I never have removed mine. Can't find it but I remember reading here that putting the drive down drains all the water. I believe you only have to remove it if you want to keep the drive raised during storage, not a good idea for the bellows.

Steel plug aluminum housing.
Aluminum expands three times as fast as steel when heated.
Some of the antique motorcycles I work on require heating the cases to 400 in an oven before dropping in the bearings.
My wife loves this.
Heat is your friend here.
Heat it good then use your impact driver.

Re: VP SX drive drain plug siezed.

I had the same problem with a water drain on a OMC Cobra. I beat on it with an impact driver while trying to turn it CCW for about 45 min. After about 20 min it turned a little. I kept at it till it gradualy turned about 2 1/2 turns with the impact before I could turn it at all with a BIG screwdriver. If all else fails, and you really want it out, drill it with a bit small enough to fit in the slot first to center it. Then larger bits till you can clean it out with a tap. Of course, get a new plug first to see what tap to use.
