I am wondering if a trim sensor from say an OMC outdrive or Mercrusier outdrive would be the same. I am using my boat without the trim gauge working. And its ok but when i first got the boat. A Larson 186SEi 1997 The gauge worked but would jump around a lot. Now it is stuck in the full up position. So i am assuming the sensor is bad. To save a few bucks i was hoping just to salvage a sending unit from another boat but i may not find another drive like mine that isnt being used. Not looking to steal a sensor, plan to go to my local boat repair shop and see if he has any used i could get cheaper than the 150$ or so for a new one.
