I have read most posts on the subject of disconnecting the VRO and normally I would not consider doing it to mine since it works fine However, 1) My 1985 90hp does not seem to have a warning system. In fact my 3 wire amphenol connector coming from the VRO pump is disconnected (I don't even see where it may have been connected to?) 2) I have a 1980 15 hp I want to use as a kicker and although possible to buy an accumix system for this, all of this seems to be adding up to alot of money to bring the VRO back up to spec. What to do? And is plugging the oil intake to the pump all that is needed? Is there a kit that retrofits these with a fuel pump only?

Re: VRO disconnect ..still again

I hear what your saying Tricks. Be much easier to run pre-mix in the main tank and just swap the fuel line.

Don't know what to say about the VRO connetor not being connected to anything....could have been a real bummer.

You don't need to buy anything to take the oil off the pump. The gas side of the VRO will work with out the oil side. Just remove the oil line from the connector on the pan and put a cap over the nipple...so it wont' suck air.

Find the two wire connections from the tank and disconnect them...this will remove the low oil tank alarm.

Then just premix the fuel at 50:1. Good for both engines.
