I had a mechanic recently look at my 2000 Johnson 70 ho
He was a guy a trusted that knew what he was doing and took my vro and never came back with it. Ripped me off
I'm not so sure that's what was wrong but I think it was because it ran a month prior.
I think they ran some crappy gas through it anyway it wouldn't stay running wasn't getting fuel so he took my part to rebuild and he vanished with a $450 vro
I'm thinking about mixing myself 32-1 and replacing with a regular fuel pump non vro because I heard these were a terrible design from the jump. I changed out all the gas and cleaned the talk completely out.
Anybody think this is a better idea? I filed a report on the guy but he's gone
Take my loses

Quickdraw2112 Welcome aboard.

This is your new thread after moving it out of an old, inactive thread. Please look at the Help Tip on top of the page.

Sorry about the bad experience, but members can give you a hand with switching to a non-VRO setup after they see the new thread, which is why it is better to start new threads instead of tacking on to dead threads.

50-1 will be the correct mix for that motor. You need to get the fuel pump off of an older 3 cylinder model pre-vro or replace the VRO itself.

Your best bet is get a fuel pump, mix your fuel and forget the VRO.
