Re: VRO pump 438097

Well, since I already bought it. It ?s new and it has the 3 wires for the alarm. Should I used as a pump (premix), used it as VRO or won't work? What do you suggest?

Re: VRO pump 438097

I tried to look up the part number, but I could not get the BRP site to come up. If this is a unit that came from the V4 models and bigger, you should be OK using the unit as it is designed. Be aware the older models like this one, even though it is new as you state, will mix oil and gas at higher ratios. (Less Oil) especially at lower RPM's. The VRO2 mixes closer to 50-1 at all RPM's
The 86 model engine you have uses the three wire hook up and came with a model VRO like you want to use.

There is great information in the FAQ's about the VRO's and the different models.
If you decide to set it up as gas pump only, there is information for the correct way to do this in the FAQ's also. Its a matter of personal preference.
