VRO replacement pump questions...

Hey Guys,

Looks like my special 1990 Johnson 120 looper has a failing fuel pump. I bought it with the VRO system removed and capped and I've been mixing fuel. I want to keep it that way and am looking for a replacement. Digging through the forum I've come across a #438402 pump that looks like it should do the trick. Does anyone know if I need to change the pulse limiter with the new pump, and if it comes with it? Also, are there any other options. I came across some reference to a pump that runs @ $60. that removes the limiter, so I'm guessing it's electric. Any thoughts on what's best?

Thanks,
Evan

Re: VRO replacement pump questions...

438402 is the direct bolt on replacement fuel only pump and it should come with a new pulse limiter. The other pumps that are being discussed were used on non VRO engines. They also work off of engine pulses and are not electric. They can be fitted to work on previous VRO motors when you go to premix..

If your old pulse limiter has a black face on it, replace it with the included blue faced one.

Thanks for the info guys, I did some digging and think I found just what I need.
The new pump looks to come with a new limiter.
