I have a 1988 Johnson 175hp that the VRO housing has cracked on. The motor was given to me and I knew that this was problem when I received it.it had already had the oil injection deleted from the VRO. I have 2 fuel pumps off a 1979 175hp that was told they would work in place of the VRO. The are the 3 nipple style. Fuel in,fuel out, pulse. My question is I have 2 pulse fittings on my crankcase. One is going to the VRO with the pulse limiter and the other us plugged. Do I need to just use the single pulse line and run the new mechanical pumps in series or is it better to have 2 pulse lines one going to each pump.

The old style pumps are DIAPHRAGM pumps.------Remove the pulse limiter as it is not needed with the old style pumps.----You need to use 2 separate pulse lines , one to each pump.
