Okay, Ive searched this and cant seem to find the correct answer. I have a 1986 Evinrude 150 with a VRO pump on it. Well the fitting on the top of the pump is broke and the bracket that has the screw in it that hold the fittings are stripped out. Well I ordered a VRO2 from a 1994 Johnson 200 for parts. Well looking further into it I see that people are converting the VRO to VRO2. If it is a easy process without buying that kit then Ill do it but if not Ill just use the parts off of the VRO2 to fix my VRO up. Any advice and input would be greatly apprectiated.

I'm no expert but I believe the VRO 2 system had more warning features i.e. low oil, no oil, no oil flow. If this is the case, you may have to do some wiring upgrades. I dont know how common this conversion is but I guarantee it's not as common (or easy as) disabling the VRO system and premixing at 50/1.

How many wires on the old pump? How many wires on the new pump? I will get you the wire colors if you want to splice the wires.
