VRO2 any good?

Is the VRO2 pump any good? <br /><br />I have two brand new VRO2 in my engine Evinrude 300XP, but I have heard so much bad about the VRO:s that I start to get disbeliefs.<br /><br />Some funny guy told me that VRO stands for "Very Risky Oil" supply :D <br /><br />Any comments?

Read the FAQ section about the VRO pumps and how they work.<br /><br />The VRO 2 came out in 1986. The newest pumps are more durable and more reliable than your old style ones.

Read FAQ Learn all you can then make your decision. I’m not a mechanic but I'd say update and maintain / test alarms regularly or bypass. <br /><br />Personally on my 86 225 I pre-mix. I have too many electrical gremlins to trust the VRO alarm system.<br /><br />Mac
