I have a 1979 mercury outboard that I can't get fire to the plugs. I put a new stator and powerpack on the motor. I didn't get any instruction with the two parts but I think I have it right. Blind, them years Merc were notorious for the trigger to go out on them.<br /><br />When it does, you have no fire.<br /><br />It is located in the distributor, and the housing has to be replaced. It is not a separate item.
