want to add power trim to old motor

I have a 1986 110 hp 4 cylinder evinrude without power trim. I want to install a used unit. What do I need to look for when buying a used set and how do I know it will fit before I buy it?

There's an aftermarket power trim unit - CMC PT130 -(Cook Mfg. I believe)
that bolts to your transom. You then bolt motor to new trim unit.
Very well made, about $500.

there are 2 sizes for the CMC units. they have been making units since the 50's, before the manufacturers did. trying to find a working Used Oem unit is kinda hard. you may have to buy 3 to make one working unit. go to iboats marine store at the top of the page, and search CMC.

There's no way to add power trim without removing the motor from the transom?
