Want to add Tilt/ trim

I have a 1974 Johnson 70 HP outboard that did not comes with tilt/ trim. I want to add this. Can it be done w/o any huge modification? I've seen some with the feature so I assume it was an option. If this is in the wrong place please let me know.

You are in the right place. Add on T/T units were produced but I cannot say that one would fit your motor, in fact I have an 80 something Johnson 40Hp, that I have recently rebuilt, fitted with such a system. You may find a used one out there on Ebay but you will be extremely lucky. The motors that came with original T/T, if my memory serves, had a completely different transom mount assy. I think a better choice would be replacing the motor with one equipped with T/T.

Was a option but hard to find as NLA...best bet is a CMC trim
