i seen this add on craiglist about this boat for sale.. boat looks nice. i want to buy it. but something is wrong with the engine.. here is the email..
what will cause an engine to go from Cruise to 0..
--------------------------------------
Basics:
1988 Bayliner Cierra 2655 on custom made trailer.
Sleeps 6 (well 4 comfortably)
Alcohol Stove
OMC 460 King Cobra engine
110 Gallons of fuel
10.5? Zodiac included
Not running. Gonna be some work involved.
More details:
Boat has been stored for 9 years and is in need of some cosmetic as well as mechanical help. Last time it was out the RPMs slowly dropped from cruise to 0. The engine never seized but for your sake you should assume it needs to be replaced.
The Boat is 30? LOA but is a 2655 model. In 1988 the swim step and pulpit were an option and not considered in the length. Weight is about 10K lbs so you will need to have a good size tow vehicle or rent a truck.
The Zodiac holds air very well. It does however need some of the seems to be re-glued. There is no outboard with the Zodiac.
The trailer it is sitting on was custom made for a boat of this size. Someone may just want the trailer to stop paying dock fees! Replacement cost of the trailer is about 5K. The trailer has less than 2000 miles on it. It has a brake flush kit. The carpet on the runner needs replacing and I would not try and move it with out greasing the bearings.
With some work it could be ready for the next boating season! Make me an offer?~!!!!!
