Want to change my prop

I currently have a 13 pitch on my 83 70hp johnson.
Currently pushing a 14 ft peterbourgh tri hull
Very light. Boat is rated for a 50hp.
So I assumed this boat would fly on the water with a 70hp. It goes okay but I'm thinking a 12 or maybe even a 11 would help with speed. Is there a chance of burning out my motor using one of these props?

Thanks

Re: Want to change my prop

James would you say a 17 would help top end speed.
I heard that the lower the pitch the faster out of the hole.
Is this correct.
I f I have 4 people in the boat averaging 180lbs each
Would a higher pitch prop not cause acceleration time to decrease?

Thanks
