want to replace 15HP OMC ZEPHYR SAILDRIVE

Do I have to remove the "OMC Zephyr" from my 27' Helms sailboat and 'glass in' the hole or can I just leave the old omc alone and buy a 9.9 outboard and have it installed. Opinions?

take the prop off it, and it's probably a foldable prop to reduce drag, if it's not leaking. add the aux motor.
