Hey guys, I am in the process of modernizing and upgrading my 1996 VIP Valiant... one of the areas that makes the boat look old is the rub rail.. these pictures dont show it well but its dingy ( no matter how much I scrub and clean) and parts of it have small pieces missing... (just the insert)

So one of the things that I thought would help was the stainless steel inserts... correct me if I'm wrong. I like it and think it looks higher class...

like this

here is what I've got.

Im thinking leave the outer and use a stainless insert???

I have that same rub rail on mine. I'd price the new rub rail before making any plans :)
take some soft scrub and a magic eraser to it and it will greatly improve the looks of it.
