Could anyone please give me some info or your own assessment of the Celebrity 240 cuddy cabin with a 7.4L mercruiser I/O? it bears the bombardier logo on the steering wheel. is it a canadian made boat? and is it a good boat with an appropriate engine? it will be used in sea water with moderate waves year=round. all comments will be greatly appreciated. thanks to all.

What year is that? (I think it was 92 when Bombardier took over celebrity)
Celebrity is a very good boat. It has the Bombardier logo on it as they bought Celebrity out when they were going belly up. Bombardier ran the line for a couple more years but couldn't salvage the business so they closed it down. The 7.4 in that boat should be plenty. They are a very solid boat. I have an 89 27 foot, it's a good solid & stable boat. I've had it in 5-7 footers with a few rogue waves even bigger & it did fine (more than I can say for the wife:D). other Celebrity owners I've talked to absolutely love their boats.

thanks for your comment, jake. i think its a solid boat, too. but do celebrity boats have anything on (or in) its hull construction that would differentiate it from other boats ? i noticed that some smaller boats are heavier than this 24 footer. is it a double layer of fiberglass with foam in between, or whatever? Is the hull thinner than other fiberglass boats? any more info on boat construction and engine tips (7.4 merc)would be greatly appreciated. thanks agn

celebrity never really went "belly up" if you still have the original catalog it shows the celebrity not only made boat but also made personal watercraft, Private Planes, Trains, monirails, snowmoblies, and mini jet boats, the catalog is really cool is shows all of the different products there making before bombardier took over, for example they were making crusier yaghts up to 31 ft with HP up to 500! and were making "fish hawk" their fishing series boats up to 25 feet with a max HP of 300, so IMO there really shouldn't have been discontuied by bombardier, but anyway i have a 20.8 foot celebrity with a 7.4L and i love it power is crazy!, and yes when bombardier sold celebrity to "electric Marine" on septemeber 9 1998 they were relocted to canada.
and what year is the celebrity your look at? if its 1996 i can give all of the catalog info if you want it?
