I have a Merc 7.5 but having a difficult time finding out exact model.
Serial = A196612
One site says its a 1985 and another says it’s a 1986.
Raised letters say Lightning and then a sticker above it says Comet.
Carb has side numbers of 1364-4929 2 B.
It was rebuilt a few years ago but as soon as I got it, carb was leaking and not fun with how much gas was spilling out and smelling.
id like to rebuild carb (or carb replacement if part still available) but without knowing exactly which model I have, hard to determine proper parts. Using part number for carb, cross references to non 7.5 models.
Also, is the 7.5 the hp or just model? I see some books list it as 7.5hp and others as 9.8hp.
Very confusing.
It came with an extra impeller and I plan to replace it and gear oil.
Lastly want to change plugs and if I find anything else.
