WARDS SEA KING 9.9 - 15?

I AM HAVING LOW SPEED TROUBLE AND LOW IDLE SPEED STALLING ON MY SEA KING MOD# : VWB 52122 / SER# : 58X 3756. TWO QUESTIONS 1) IS THIS AN 85? 2) WHAT PLUGS AND GAP SHOULD I USE? THE OLD OWNER HAS SPLIT FIRE SF409B IN IT. I AM PRETTY SURE THIS IS NOT RIGHT????????

Found out more info plug should be a NGK B7HS gapped at .30 or a SPLIT FIRE SF409C. VWB 52122 / SER# 58X 3756 makes it a 15 HP 1985 vintage. ANY ADVICE FOR POOR IDLE AND SLOW SPEED PERFORMANCE??

Start with cleaning the fuel system, including the carb. Use new fresh gas.

i'm having the same problem, i found that i was running it way to rich. but it still stumbles sometime when i accelarate slowly.

boltdude...if stumbling with slow acceleration you may have either electrical system malfunction or fuel delivery problem...if it has a fuel pump I'd check it... does timing advance as with some outboards? if so, is it doing it properly?

it only stumbles when i try to accelerate slowly, and it does not do it all the time, i've had the carb off and it was spotless, also i found out today that the fitting for the fuel line maybe bad, sucking a little air. she runs very well otherwise, very fast for a little boat.
