My boat has a 90 HP '89 Merc. Runs great, really has run great it's whole life. The power trim seems to die every 10 years but the engine keeps on kicking. So anyway, today when I pulled the boat out, i leaned over the motor to flip the lever that hold the engine in the up position, and the power unit felt pretty warm to the touch. I was very surprised how warm it was. It seems pretty strange since I'd been in the water for about 2.5 hours. And that water is very cold, plus with all the movement, you'd think the engine under the water would be cool to the touch. But I don't usually lean over the motor like that, so I don't know if this is normal or not? The water was peeing full stream. My boat has no prostate issues :D Is this heat normal, or something I should be concerned about?

The exhaust goes down through the mid and lower and out of the prop. Of course it's warm. Good morning.:D
