warm starting 92 johnson 150 silver series

starts fine when cold -choke runs it at high rpm then she slows and purrs like a kitten. one turn of the key when hot. but after anchoring 1-2hrs lots of cranking needed. should i still choke and squeeze the bulb when warm? i worry about flooding. thanks!!!!
