Warming up engine?

Sorry for another novice question, but should I take off the transom saver and lower the engine before warming it up on the ears, or does it matter?<br /><br />Thanks!

It might be a little harder to start, (depending on the make,year and HP) with the motor tilted/trimmed up.

I take mine off just because its easier for me to get the muffs over the air intakes that way. Would hate to have them slip off when you arent looking...

Yes - the float in the carb functions best when the engine is near verticle.
