warning buzzer

finally got my 86 40hp johnson to fire up and run on muffs. i think its been like 17 years . amazing

it ran and idled pretty good . then i heard a buzzer and now it wont fire back up

can somebody tell me what this means.


i used to hear this buzzer when id first try to crank before i changed vro to mix

did you do Awakening a Sleeping Outboard, in the TOP SECRET FILE? change impeller, clean carbs. new fuel lines, checked spark???????

yes i did all that and more , thanks great info btw.

changed to fuel pump and mix and found bad rectifier.

didnt realize it had a lanyard missing on remote.

to be totally honest havent been around boats since i was a kid.

not really sure what the controls on the remote are.

i know about the primer solenoid and the forward and reverse


but the lever that lifts straight up, is that the throttle?
