It chirps like it is supposed to, once, when the key is turned. The problem is that when it is running it chirps about every 30 seconds. The manual seems to indicate that this indicates low oil. It did not stop this intermittent chirp even when I filled the tank nearly full. I banged the tank a couple times and hit a few wakes hard in the hope that I had a stuck float or something like that. No luck.

Other than that the motor runs great. The marina started changing the water pump impeller every two seasons and it pumps lots of water out the tell-tale so I do not think I have an over heat issue.

I am hoping it is a faulty sensor for the oil tank level. I am pretty good about checking the oil before I go anywhere so could probably live without the warning horn for the oil tank. Is it much trouble to just disconnect it? How should I go about that? Any suggestions if I wanted to fix it? I hate to pay 80 bucks an hour for someone to look for the problem.

Thanks for your help.
