Warning horn question

I have a 1997 2 cylinder 40hp evinrude outboard, there is no beep at start up but the warning lights come on and go off. I was under the console and found 3 wires not hooked up. They are black, grayish blue, and purple. Don't know what they go to. There is a hole in my console that looks like it had a gauge or something there at one point about 1" diameter. Don't know if these wires have anything to do with the horn or not. Is there a way to test the warning signals? Have any clue what these wires go to? Thanks

Those are the connections for a tachometer.

I have a tach that is hooked up and works already. Checked it with a handheld tach. The tach that is in there has a plug in factory harness that is plugged in to the back of it.

Re: Warning horn question

I hooked the purple wire directly to the battery and what do you know it powered the tach up like I had the key on. Why would I have these wires? Hour meter?
