I have a 96 Pro Line 220 cuddy fish. on the left side, there is a male hose fitting, with a on off valve, beside that is a switch, and then beside that is an other selector valve. now when i turn the switch on the pump for the livewell tank in the back starts and fills that. but no matter what i turn on or off i can not get anthing to flow through the hose outlet, i would think it would have a raw wash down but i dont know how else to get it to turn on. any ideas????

Most use a some sort of a ?Y? valve to reroute the flow from the bait well to the washdown. Its very common problem for the "selector" switches to lock up or break over time.

Are you sure that what you are doing is actuating the valve?

Or?..it could be that you have separate pumps and one of your pumps are dead.

Re: washdown?????

do you have a freshwater tank, could be the washdown is fresh water. i have a fresh water shower on my swim platform, that also doubles as a washdown.

I do have a fresh water tank. I bought the boat about 2 months ago The fresh water tank has some thing in it that has turned it red, i dont know if it is some kind of anti freeze or something, but when you turn on the switch on the inside of the cabin for the sink, it will barely work, if you let it sit for a min, it will build up pressure, enough for a blast then just trickle. i dont think that would go to the wash down outside though

The redish coloring is almost guaranteed to be RV anti-freeze for the potable water system. That is part of the winterizing procedure. In the spring, you should flush that out of the system.

Re: washdown?????

fill it with water, run it through your pump into your sink and let it drain into your grey water tank. Repeat until it runs clear.

The following is from an RV site. Same procedure for boats:

*
Step one, cleaning the fresh water system

1. If you have any filters, remove any and all filter cartridges except a UV tube and sleeve.
2. Add four teaspoons (60 ml.) of liquid soap for every 10 gallons (40 L.) of your fresh water system capacity. If mobile go for a short ride as the ?sloshing? will be an added bonus in the cleaning process.
3. Run all taps including shower until all evidence of soap has been eliminated.
4. Repeat this process one more time to ensure cleanliness.

*
Step two, disinfecting the system. (Disinfecting is not cleaning- it?s microbial elimination).

1. Fill the fresh water tank halfway with clean water, add to 6 oz. (200 ml.) liquid chlorine bleach for every 10 gallons (40L.) tank capacity then top up the tank.
2. Run all taps until presence of bleach solution is detected. Shut all taps and let the solution stand in the system for at least one hour.
3. Open all taps and pump out the remaining solution.
4. Now the entire system should be thoroughly flushed with clean water.
