This is just a check to see what I must do to stop this problem. I have a 12' aluminum boat with a 15 Johnson HP on it and at W.O.T. with or without a person in the bow, I am getting water coming in over the transom. This is just an adjustment I am sure but do I raise the motor or lower it. Sure hope it is not lower it. Oh yes, it's not a long shaft if that makes a difference......normal shaft.

I had this problem with my 20 hp merc on a 14 foot boat and moving the tilt pin out 2 notches (it was all the way in) took care of it. Good luck.

I have also heard of people building a "trough" to catch the water and run it back out. Some large boats come with these built in.

my 12 footer is rated for a 15 but i have a 9.5 on it. play around with the tilt also the hight of the motor. i raised mine up 2 inches with some furring strips and it helped my boat out alot.

Danman....what Wayne said.....check the anti-cavitation plate in reference to the keel of the boat. Should be no more than 1" below or no more than 1" above the keel. If it's low, raise it up to 1" above. Should make a difference.
