water coming out lower carb 125 force

i'm looking at a 85 bayliner with 125 force. the seller says lost power now water comes out the lower carb. could this be a head gskt. or is this a major problem. he wants $1600 or bo is this worth the investment. and any suggestions on the problem would be appreciated.

Hey, Spike. How much of a masochist are you? If you have to ask, you don't want to know the answer. The price is certainly attractive if you visualize happy hours on the water. Your chances are almost as good of winning the lottery. <br /><br />If you get great satisfaction out of turning a hopeless piece of junk into a working machine (many of us do) then go for it. That is what buying a seriously broken Force will do for you. It wont put you on the water for those happy hours. . . not this year, anyway.<br /><br />Good luck.<br />JB

I had a rod come thru the side of an old Johnson 70hp and guess what. When I tilted the motor up hot saltwater came out of all 3 carbs! Hey at least the guy was nice enough to tell you he's got water coming out of a carb.....hmmm, not a selling point however.
