Hello,

As I have found everybody here so helpful in the past getting me thus far .... I have hit another seems to be road block !

I have a Mercury 65HP O/B model #2448761

Anyways I just replaced the gaskets/impellor on this thing ...finally got the time to put it back together and see if it would fire up and **** some water out the back... Well here is what I got.

I ran it for a short bit...keeping my hand on the motor to make sure of no overheating.... and I am seeing water dripping where looks to be like the bottom of the #1 spark plug !! I don't see anything coming out the top two holes as far as water, but on the bottom there is what looks like two vents right above the trim tab ? and water is going through there. When I shut the engine off I could hear a hissing noise coming from the number 1 cylinder. Help me out here guys ...what the heck is going on ?

My thoughts ... of a possibility ...
When putting it back together I noticed that it was particularly hard to get the lower unit back in because of the water pumps pipe, which was a copper pipe, moved around a little...seemed like the seal was good at the base because I blew through the end of the tube and didn't get any leaking air. Now if I missed the hole (no pun intended) w/ the pipe, would the water be going up through the exhaust and into the number 1 cylinder.

Sorry for the long post, but to get the best help I have noticed that the more info that you have the better.

thanks
