Re: water coming out of my freezer

Uh,,,,,,freezer right? Then there shouldn't be water if the freezer is working. My thoughts are that the defrost timer is hanging up causing the evaporator coil to ice over the evaporator pan. Then when it melts during a defrost, it is missing the pan and draining out the front. May want to check your temp in the freezer. You may find that it is not as low as it should be kept. 0 to -10 is the preferred freezer temps. If not, the drain line is clogged, kinked, or pulled out of the bottom of the fridge to the drain pan. A torn or bad door seal that lets humid warm air in can cause excessive frosting of the coil also. Hope this helps you some. Defrost timers are not very expensive.

Just had a problem like that with my freezer and it was the ice-maker water shut-off solenoid went bad and would over flow the ice maker. Shut off the water supply to the fridge/freezer and see if that solves the problem. If it does......Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding.

There should be a tube that runs from the bottom of the freezer down to the pan in the bottom of the fridge. Follow it and see if it's kinked or clogged.

Another vote with Paul Moir! The drain is plugged.

my fridge/freezer has a switch that says "reduce exterior moisture" if it is off in the summer water will drip from the door seal when I open it, when it is on you can feel warmth around where the door seal contacts the fridge/freezer and it stays dry........

let see, the water is coming out of the door or from inside? I had one that would gather condensate in the door during wet/humid weather, turned off the energy saving switch and it stopped!

I have an Amana fridge on top freezer on bottom. When the top is opened water drips off the bottom of the door. It is not hooked up to the water line because it is just a spare fridge.

Your auto-defrost circuit may not be working properly. Open the freezer and take off the panel on the back of the inside of the freezer and I am sure you will find it full of ice. Newer fridges use solid state timers instead of mechanical timers. They are usually located in the top of the refer side.
