water cover gasket?? use 1 or 2

i have a 1988 28 spl...im changing the thermostat, the plate that covers it has a gasket, i ordered it...ready to install, opened the package and theres 2 gaskets, should i use them both, if i remember correctly i think i did order 2, but im not sure anymore....anyone done this job?

Use one gasket.

If you use two gaskets, then you could develop a leak between the gaskets.

ok....i used 1 gasket and it leaks like a siv...now what should i do...???

The schematic shows the gasket,then the thermostat,spring,then the water cover gasket then the cover and finally the themostat boss.
