Water Discharge

In summerizing my boat, I noticed that there was water discharging from around the plastic "strikeplate" (see pic) on the side of the outdrive. First time I have noticed this. Anyone had this before? Is this a sign of a serious problem?

I have a SX-M drive.

Don't worry about that.

Behind these plates, runs the exhaust channel. The plates have two studs, going through holes in the aluminium, and a special washer inside, pressed onto the studs, to hold the plates in place. This connection does not have a seal, so water will find its way through.
