I hear and see a water leak coming down behind the engine, from above the exhaust pipes.

It happens while at the dock.
It only occurs when trim is raised up and/or if steering is not at center

I used a light and mirror but can not see the actual source.

I suspect one of the flex rubber boots is failing.

Andy ideas?

I guess I'm into a bellows/rubber parts replacement job at end of year....

Until you can pinpoint where the leak is, don't expect an answer into how to fix it. Every possible place on the back of a boat has leaked in the past and will leak again.

Even if the boat don't sink, if the ujoint bellows is the cause, you will have water in the outdrive, the ujoints, and the gimbal bearing. Trust me, all those requier lube, not water.
