Re: Water drips from shift cable on to intake manifold?

Probably have water in the bellhousing shift cavity. Most likely, the shift bushing seal, in the bell housing is leaking, allowing water from the exhaust passage area in. You will probably need to replace the shift cable, as it will most likely stiffen up with corrosion, and that shift bushing seal (mercruiser has a completely updated shift bushing seal kit with much beefier seals). Also you will need to figure out where the water is coming from (if it's not from the shift seal), and if it has done any other sorts of damage, such as invaded the main bellows area.

Scott..

Yep, or the bellhousing/gimbal housing Gasket....
No Doubt you're going to need a new lower cable kit...
That's Supposed to be a Dry Cavity...

Thanks for that info..

I thought it was just moisture dripping the first time I saw it.. but nope.

Seems it's leaking between the inner and outer section of the shift cable right on top the intake manifold..

OK.... we'll check it out for sure.
