Water exiting from transom housing... is this normal?

I have posted a few questions about de-winterizing and a few odds and ends about maintenance and everyone has been great. Now being the fact that I have always had outboard motors in the past and this is the first in/outboard I bought 6 months ago I just had a question about something I've never noticed before but I did thispast weekend. I have a 1996 Sylvan with the following setup:

Engine 4.3LX Gen + (0F821387)
Drive Alpha One Gen II (0F709008)
Transom (0F677910)

I have a question about water exiting from the transom housing. I never noticed it before because I never really looked down there. I had the muffs, started it and let it run for about 15 minutes, the temperature never went past 120 degrees, and when I went to do a visual inspection I noticed water exiting the transom through the ports on the left and right side of the upper housing. What really through me for a loop was that one side was cold water (temperature coming from the hose), but the other side was warm (like warm tap water). Is this normal operation? Keep in mind I am a auto mechanic that has always had outboards... and this is all new to me. I am not trying to ask ignorant questions but before I send it to the marina to pay for what they may consider a maintenance style question ($125.00 per hour and they do charge full hour regardless of time spent), I thought I would try to ask here first. Thanks for any thoughts in advance. My main concern is I just want to make sure I did not buy any previous problems/issues before I take 500 miles south on vacation in about 2 weeks.

Perfectly normal, they are exhaust relief ports.
