water impellor on 96 gamefisher

I was wondering if anyone knows how hard it is to change an impellor on a 96 gamefisher model 225.581508. I have done water pump impellors on 70's evinrudes before andthat was piece of cake. This motor has a T-stat and what not. The problem is that the pee hole completely stopped. I was in a pond where there was a crap in the water and i ran right through some marsh and stuff so im sure its just clogged. Wondering whats the best way to approach this problem. It was peeing solid before i ran it through that scumm. I just didnt see it. There is no scum at the intake holes on the lower unit so im sure its internal.
