Hi! I have a question.. How much water in the bilge is considered 'normal' ? My bilge pump has been pumping out about half a gallon of water from bilge whenever I stepped on the boat. Cant be just the rainwater right..

Could be!! The rain, Do you cover your boat? If so, check all your hoses and make sure its their tight and if that doesn't stop water from being in your bilge then,we'll go farther, there are alot of reasons it could have water, but check the simplest first.

Re: Water in Bilge

Actually a small amount of rain can collect in the bilge enough to trigger the pump. Recently we towed our boat (with the plug in...duh!) through a small rain storm. When we stopped at the ramp to launch when the sun poked out, my friend got blasted by the bilge water when the pump triggered. It ran for a good 30 seconds...so a lot more then a gallon of water.
