Just took my boat out of the water, after being docked 3 months. I changed the bottom oil and put new washers on before I put the boat in the water. Just drained it now, and it looks like Homo milk!. Would this be a prop seal.
It's a 1969 650 4 stroke. Thanks for any Info.

You will have to replace ALL the seals, as it could be a number of things. You need to pull the lower unit and get a manual. Replace the impeller and related seals/gaskets, driveshaft seal, bearing carrier o-ring and seal, etc. Seals are a lot cheaper than gears...do them all.

While you wait, try pressurizing the lower unit with air while it's submerged and see where the bubbles come out. It helps to know where the leak is sometimes.

An artfully carved tire valve stem and a bicycle pump work for this. Do not pressurize the case to more than 15psi.

Yeah, exactly, that or the fill screw hole. I guess I left that part out.
The valve stem bottom is rubber and much larger than the hole. Use a knife, drum sander, belt sander, or whatever is handy to shape then end of it to a taper so it plugs into the fill or vent screw holes. Thread it in a bit and it'll seal perfectly. Or well enough anyway.
A foot pump and 'just the right sized rubber hose' will work too. Anything really. I think I remember someone using a turkey baster.

Thanks to all you guy's for the Info, it is a great help. Can't beat this site for a newbie to outboard motors like myself. Have worked on cars lots, but no nothing about outboards. But I'm going to give it a shot!
