I just got a 1988 four winns 205 sundowner. I have water in the cabin, not much but the carpet is wet. the boat is on the trailer and is level. I checked the drain from anchor well, no leaks. my question is; is there a drain from the cabin to the bilge? if so, where would I find it to check for clogs? thanks in advance.

There should be drains all the way from the front to the back. Sometimes there are small tubes through the bulkheads that get clogged with debris. You need to start from the front and work your way back making sure everything is clear. You may need to pull up some carpet along the way.

When the boat is stored on the trailer, try to make sure the bow is up so the bilge can drain easily. Raise the trailer tongue as high as possible. Keeping the bow high creates good pitch to allow the bilge to drain.

your advice was very good. I removed the cover for the gas tank and found several mouse nests inside. I got as much as I could with a shop vac and then flushed the rest into the bilge while using a coat hanger to "pull" the stuff thru the drain hole in the bilge. It took a while but it now drains as it should. thanks again.
