went out this morning tuna fishing when 5 miles out the motor rpm takes a dive 1 I pump the bulb
it rock hard 2 I raise the engine to see if somthing is tangeled in the prop???
as the motor is tilting up I see alot of water coming out of the cowling seam! (not good) as I lift off the cowling alot of water comes out I thought I blew a head gasket! limped back to shore when the motor picks up again and ran well for the rest of the day what could of caused water to get up there???????
Ive never seen anything like this!!also I had the cowling off the day before checking the plugs so I know the warer was not in there! Is there a hose in the motor that contains raw water or is all the raw water internal!???

Thanks Bogart

Don't know your 225 but my 110s have a couple of small hoses in the back for the pisser & water pressure guages. One of those hoses came off of a T fitting about a year ago at 4500 rpm. It was like a little fire hose spraying water everywhere under the cowl - including the carb intakes - salt water of course. Result - severe detonation to the motor which resulted in the need for a rebuilt powerhead which resulted in my taking my wallet out of my pocket, turning it upside down and shaking vigorously.

Find it source & fix it & hope you have no internal damage like I did.

there are many points where water can get under the cowl.your whole engine is water cooled.Pull the motor cover off and see what is happening.
DHP
