I have a 1966 johnson super seahorse v4 60 hp. It is not running as fast as it should and I have water spitting out with the exhaust as well as when i rev it in neutral it seams that the water in a trash can is bubbling and oil (maybe 2 cycle) in the trash can. I am thinking a leaking head gasket but i am not that familiar with boats. thanks in advance. also where can i get new headgaskets since iboats doesnt go that far back?

Are you talking about water from the relief ports on the back of the upper midsection? Or somewhere else?

The exhaust comes out underwater. Cooling water is supposed to come out of the relief port that is halfway up the back of the motor. The unburned 2-cycle oil gets mixed in the exhaust and you will see it in the water in the barrel.

What you have described is normal.

This is an old outboard that the exhaust is just under the powerhead but above the water. Not thru the prop. So it gives a constant spray of water directly out the exhaust pipe. the water return is behind the prop

That is the exhaust relief port that is below the powerhead but above the water. It is supposed to spit water out of it; that is how you know the water pump is pumping water. The rest of the exhaust comes out from behind the prop.
