water in fuel filter?

to continue my posted question earlier today; my 3 hp Evinrude fell in fresh water Monday. I didn't get to it until today. I got it running again after getting out all the water, spraying Marvel mystery oil in the cylinders and cleaning the carb with carb cleaner. It runs but stalls constantly esp. when I turn up the throttle. I didn't replace the fuel filter and one of the cheap plastic fuel filter clamps broke. Maybe I'm sucking in air as well. I'l replace them Friday or Saturday.
I appreciate all your help. The engine is about 10 years old and very, very few hours on it. It sat in my garage for 5 years unused. It started right up and ran great until the mishap.
Thanks for your suggestions, MT Marine.

Re: water in fuel filter?

Make sure all the conections for fuel are conected and tight and all electrical connections are clean. Otherwise it should run fine.
