Hi Guys,
I have a 05 150 Yami 4 stroke. Some knuckle head dumped about 5 gallons of water in my fuel tank the other day. End result being two dead motors, my 150 and my T8. The VST tank was full of water on my 150. Got everything cleaned out and both motors running. I checked the dipstick and my T8 was milky and my 150 looked like chocolate milk. I dumped the oil in both motors and replaced it. I can't get a Yami oil filter for my 150 for about a week. I did pull the old filter, dumped it, and put it back on. You think it will be ok to run with the old filter until I can get a new one?

I also added a top of the line racor seperator with the clear bowl on the bottom with a drain. This filter leads to another one and then to the motor.

Do you think I will run into any fuel restriction issues with a set up like this?

Thanks

sounds better than nothing, as long as that racor can flow at least 30GPH its no worries.
best thing to do is to run them, a lot. the object is to keep them hot until all the mositure is gone. water boils at 212*F and that motor typically runs about 160*.

Thanks Rodbolt.
How do you suppose the water got into the oil? I can understand on the T8 because it is carborated but the 150? I did try to start them a couple of times after water was in the lines.

How did he put water in fuel? Five gallons is a lot of water. Hope you drained the tank and start fresh. I have a Racor on my outboard and works good.

Re: Water in fuel/Now in oil

actually EFI is more susceptible for water in the cyl as EFI does not rely on a difference in air pressure to move fuel.EFI on the other hand does not care whats in the fuel rail. it will spray whatever is under pressure when the injector is on.
