Over the past few year i have been absolutley plagued with water in my fuel tank. Its one of the big red plastic ones. The then inevitably gets into the carbs leading to maintenance to take this out as the boat starts running lean. Its happened maybe 4 times in the last 3 years.

The water comes from condensation inside the fuel tank as it expands in the heat. i never leave it in sunlight and store it somewhere cold.

What precautions can i take to avoid this. And are there any good funnel, filters, seperating devices i can use to seperate it.

thanks

Install a fuel/water seperating filter. That should do the trick.

the above advise is good. Also, if the tank is a small one just fill it everytime you use it. The more space that is filled with gas the less surface for condensation. I have 2 6 gallon and I never had the problem. Of couse you being in another country the weather might be a little propensity to do that... Oh, I always leave the vent open and use stabilizer in the mix. Good luck!
