Just got the boat out of the shop today. Wrench told me there was water in the gas. Said to drain the tank. Is there a easy way to remove the water. It's a built in tank with 20 gallons in it.
Thanks, Dead Eye

Or head to the auto parts store and get the cheapest electric auto fuel pump they have and pump away. Get 5 or 6 feet of tubing for the inlet and outlet of the pump and hook it up to a battery and you will be done in a flash.. But the Beer idea is appealing, too...

REMEMBER THE HAZARDS OF GASOLINE. VENTALATION, SPARKS FROM CONNECTING THE PUMP TO THE BATTERY, OR EVEN THE SWITCH OR THE WINDINGS ARCHING. AND STATIC ELECTRICY.
I would gravity siphon off the fuel line into a plastic jug.

That's why I recommended the long lines to keep it away from the fuel tank. It works...

I recommend siphoning. Just detatch the fuel line from the engine and put it to a tank at ground level. Then pump the primer to start the flow.

After that, put a water seperating filter in the line.

Good luck. :)

Re: Water in gas

Pulled the fuel line off at the seperator. Ran the line out the drain hole on the bottom of the boat. No water in the fuel. I saw the fuel from the seperator at the shop, 2/3rds water. My question is: could the seperator {on the boat, i don't know how long] be full of water and none in the tant? I Lifted the bow as far up as I could. I drained about 20gal out and did not see any water. I was told you could tall right away if there was any water in the fuel.
Thanks, Dead Eye

Looks like your seperator did what it was supposed to. You might want to check it after you go out a few times.

While your at the tank take a look at your brass check valve (top of tank)external, it's more than just a fitting ,if you got trash in the tank it can cause an intermittent problem .Yours is probably clear just so you know it's there.(Anti-siphon device.)
