Water in hull

Hi,
I have a 1963 Glasspar Marathon 14' runabout aand it seems a bit slow. It has been suggested that I check for water in the hull. How do I do that?

one way is to find the weight new, then weigh it and compare.

Is it a double hull with no bilge like a whaler?

I recall a lot of discussion on Continuous Wave, a Boston Whaler restoration site; if your boat is similar you may find out something there.
